Ho-Ho-Ho-Made Kahlua (Gluten-Free)

Kahlua is a fabulous coffee flavored liqueur that is very expensive to purchase, I like to make homemade Kahlua as Christmas gifts for friends and loved ones. Of course, we make it Gluten-Free!!! Pure indulgence made from simple ingredients: Coffee, sugar, vanilla, and vodka. 

Nothing but Madagascar Vanilla Beans will do, it gives a premier flavor that "store bought" cannot touch, Espresso coffee also makes this a decadent treat, and of course it has to be gluten-free vodka (I personally like potato vodka).

 Ingredients List for Homemade Kahlua:

  • freshly brewed, hot coffee (strong)--12 cups
  • Brown sugar (16 cups)
  • Madagascar Vanilla Beans (about 15), halved & split lengthwise 
  •  1.75L American Potato Vodka 
  • 10 bottles or jars of your choosing

Let's Make Some HO-HO-HO-Made Kahlua!!

****To begin this process, place the prepared vanilla beans in the potato vodka and steep for at least 4 weeks (ours steeped for a year). ***

In a large mixing bowl, add all the brown sugar. Brew 12 cups of really strong coffee or espresso, then pour hot coffee over the brown sugar, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. 

 

 Add the steeped potato vodka to the coffee/sugar mixture. Mix really well. Let this completely cool. Put the mixture in the bottles.

Voila!! Fabulous Homemade Kahlua to give as gifts or keep for yourself!!!
